Saudi courts have received more than 32,000 requests to release mortgages since the beginning of the Hijri year

Saudi courts have received 32,368 requests to release real estate mortgages since the beginning of the current Hijri year, an increase of 39% over the same period last year, with an average of 132 requests per day.

Statistics issued by the Saudi Ministry of Justice showed that the Riyadh region accounted for 71% of these requests and lawsuits with 22,996 requests, followed by Medina with 1,144 requests.

The number of requests to release real estate mortgages in the Qassim region reached 1,285 deeds, followed by 159 real estate deeds in the northern borders, according to Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper.

The Kingdom’s courts, with their various specializations: “public, criminal, commercial, labor, and personal status”, completed 213,000 cases during the first quarter of the current Gregorian year, at a rate of 3,380 cases per day.

During the same period, the courts held more than 578,000 sessions, most of which were held remotely through the electronic litigation service, at an average of 9,174 sessions per day. The general courts held 250,000 sessions, while the criminal courts held 137,000 sessions, the personal status courts held 110,000 sessions, and the commercial courts held 31,000 sessions, in addition to 50,000 sessions held by labor courts.
